I am so excited to share todays post about Bigger and Better for Animals. A dear friend of mine Ryan Delong has started something wonderful! Please enjoy this special post from Ryan 🙂
Ryan, I am SO beyond proud of you. Keep it up, with you behind this project, I know it will go so far!
I am running a year-long trading game to raise money for World Society for the Protection of Animals.
The run-down: I am mimicking an idea from 2005 where a Canadian man made a series of 14 “Bigger and Better” trades starting with one red Paperclip to a house for himself in a matter of one year. My idea follows the the same guidelines BUT with one important difference: after the year is up (Christmas 2014) I will sell whatever item I end up with and give 100% of the proceeds to the charity.
I started on Christmas with a Milk-Bone dog treat and so far in a series of 4 trades, I am currently at a Luxury Escape Spa Package at Riverstone Spa at the Forks valued at $325!
The Facebook page is called Bigger and Better for Animals and is gaining attention quickly. I did an interview with Metro News this week, I have an interview on Breakfast TV early Friday morning, Hal Anderson from CJOB wants me to talk about it on his morning show (when he’s back from holidays) and I have been in talks with Mark Stuart from the Winnipeg Jets regarding a possible trade.
I review all trade offers. They can be anything new and used, concert/sport tickets, services, etc. The awesome part of it all is that you don’t lose. You trade. So whatever item I have, I give to the successful trader. All trade offers must be of higher value.
So, if you or anyone you know might be interested in participating or at least following the trades as they unfold, please check out the page at Bigger and Better for Animals. I have a hefty goal of $100K and I think it is very possible. The more eyes that see it, the better.
